This office provides support to our prospective students and students right from the application for the admission period to the time of their graduation.  The office ensures that our students go through a learning experience that motivates them to exert themselves much more than the ordinary expectation and acquire the best possible outcome from their academic pursuits. Services the office is always on hand to provide to our prospective students and students include but not limited to the following:

a.Information about Academic Programmes on Offer

The office provides information about the programmes on offer to prospective students and their parents/guardians and sponsors who visit the offices or enquire via email (ddeol@cbu.ac.zm) or by phone (0212290885) so as to enable them make informed decisions.

b. The Application Process

The office supports prospective students during the application process.  Applicants are free to visit the office or contact the office via email (ddeol@cbu.ac.zm) or call 0212290885 should they need assistance during the application process.

c. Student Registration

During course registration, the office supports students by providing information on the steps to be followed in order to complete the Registration Process and is on hand to help the students all the way as they navigation through this process. The following is the Registration Process for new students:

Step 1: Obtain Invoice from the Student Finance Office

Step 2: Pay fees at ZANACO Bank into the DDEOL Income Account No. 1638040500163 using the Student Bill Muster Deposit Form

Step 3: Perform Online Registration and print 3 Copies of the Registration Form.

Step 4: Go to the Academic Office to submit the 3 Registration Forms, Original Certificates, Certified copies of Certificates and your 2 passport size photos.

Step 5: Obtain a Student Identification Card at Central Registry.

Step 6: Collect your Study Material from DDEOL Dispatch Office

d. Study Materials

All registered students are issued with the study materials comprising course modules and assignments upon registration.  This marks the beginning of self-study for the academic year and students are required to follow the guidance provided in the course modules and instructions in the given assignments.  This office is always on hand to provide the necessary support to students so as to make the self-study and Residential School periods not only academically productive but also enjoyable academic undertakings.

e. Academic Calendar

The beginning of the academic year is marked by the start of Registration whereas its end is marked by the publication of examination results.  Upon registration, students begin their self-study and working on assignments.  During Residential School, students have the opportunity to interact with their lecturers with a view to seeking clarification on areas of study or concepts not fully grasped during self-study.  This is also the time to write tests which constitute 30% of the Continuous Assessment (CA).  Examinations are held during the last two weeks of Residential School.   Education programmes have Residential during the three (3) school holidays; April, August and December, while the rest of the programmes have it once per academic year.   Sessional Examinations for Education programmes are held during the April/May Residential School.

f. Intakes

The academic activities in the Directorate revolve around two intakes, namely; the February Intake and August Intake which have a common Residential School but different Examination sessions.   The August intake has examinations in June/July while the February intake has examinations in November.

g. Student Awards

The academic achievements of best-performing students per intake in each programme do not go unnoticed as these students are awarded.  The Best Graduating students are awarded at an Awards Ceremony that is held at the eve of the Graduation Ceremony while the best-performing students in lower years are awarded during the African University Day Celebrations held in November every year.
