MUKUBA UNIVERSITY ACCREDITED PROGRAMMES ON OFFER IN 2025/2026

Mukuba University, a Public Higher Education Institution which was formerly established as Copperbelt Secondary Teachers College (COSETCO) to train teachers of Science, Mathematics and Home Science for the nation’s secondary schools is now inviting applications for both Regular (January intake) and Open and Distance Learning (April Intake) modes. In compliance with requirements of the Higher Education Authority (HEA); the under listed are the approved and accredited programmes for the 2025/2026 Academic Year:

  • SCHOOL OF MATHEMATICAL AND NATURAL SCIENCES
  • SCHOOL OF EDUCATION

SCHOOL OF APPLIED SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

 The School of Applied Sciences and Technology was established in 2014, initially as the school of Home Science to offer degree in Food and Nutrition (Major)/ Home Management (Minor) and Clothing and Textile Science (Major)/Home Management (Minor). It was changed to the school of Applied Sciences and technology in 2024.  The school offers programmes in bachelor of science – Nutritional science and Master of Science – Nutritional Science. the following programmes will be offered in 2024.  Bachelor of science – Hospitality and Tourism management and Bachelor of Science – Clothing Design.

SCHOOL OF GRADUATE STUDIES

As a public institution of higher learning, Mukuba University’s core business is Teaching, Research and Consultancy as a service to the nation. In order to actualise its core business, Mukuba University, established the School of Graduate Studies (SGS) in 2020, whose mandate is to coordinate graduate programmes with respect to syllabi administration, student progress examination and the general welfare of graduate students. The SGS trains graduate students in multidisciplinary programmes of speciality in order to increase its level of relevance to industry and assist the government meet key sustainable development goals (SDG). It is envisioned that in line with Mukuba University vision of “Raising the university profile through academic excellence, research and publication”, the SGS will become the powerhouse of academic excellence through research and innovation in its areas of specialisation where there is an increasing demand for skills in the market place.

ONLINE REGISTRATION PROCESS

We wish to inform all our new and returning students that online registration is on. We do, however, wish to acknowledge that we have received complaints from some of you to the effect that you are having challenges in registering. Kindly note that to successfully complete the online registration process, you should have:

  1. Met the minimum requirement of paying 30% of tuition fees for the 2018 academic year, plus K1,050 ‘other fees’ (Registration, Examination Technological, Recreation & Medical fees) plus K100 surcharge for returning students except those from Town campus & Open and Distance Learning (ODL)
  2. Calculate the 30% based on the correct tuition fees. Note that tuition fees for each stream of students in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th year vary. To confirm the correct tuition fee in your case, depending on your year of study, follow the link: http://www.mukuba.edu.zm
  3. Cleared ALL outstanding balances from previous years (for returning students)[You will not be able to register if you have balances from previous academic years even if you have met the 30% of tuition fees plus K1,050 other fees threshold for 2018]
  4. Paid using the ZANACO BillMuster form [Those who deposited directly into the Mukuba University account will first have to present copies of the deposit slips to the Student Accounts office]
  5. Completed the student registration process in previous academic years (For Returning Students). [Those who had been attending classes but DID not register in previous years will first have to be attended to at the Academic Affairs office]
  6. Been at the main campus, NOT the Town Campus. [Those from the Town Campus will need to first present their NRCs to our ICT staff, so as to be complete the process of defining them on the system)
  7. Not failed in 3 courses and above [If, however, the system shows that you failed in 3 courses or above, when in fact not, send an email to jthewac2@mukuba.edu.zm, also copying petronella.nyembele@cbu.ac.zm and we will send you a ‘Registration Complaint Form’ which you can complete and email back to us. Completing and emailing this form back to us will enable us to start attending to your matter even before you report for school]

In addition, a few of those of you in the School of Home Science and Technology who have met the registration criteria and can see the “Register” key may notice that there are courses for which you are not supposed to register for. If this happens, do go ahead and register, but make sure you complete the ‘Registration Complaint Form’ described above, so that the extra courses can be removed.
