University of Rwanda Grading System – Details of University of Rwanda Grading System.
Grading System is the system of applying standardized measurements of varying levels of achievement in a course. University Grades are often assigned as letters (for example A through F), as a range (for example 1 to 6), as a percentage of a total number of questions answered correctly, or as a number out of a possible total. The marks awarded for each module shall be converted into grades before they are
presented to the College Academic Council, and results transcripts shall show both marks in
percentages and letter grades. All marks shall presented with two decimal places. The guide for
the grading system shall be as follows:
Marks | Letter Grade | Grade Points |
80-100 | A | 5 |
70-79.99 | B+ | 4 |
60-69.99 | B | 3 |
50-59.99 | C | 2 |
0-49.99 | F | 0 |
Module leaders shall submit module grades to programme leaders who shall be responsible
for presenting them to the School Council at time specified in the academic calendar.
Each student shall earn a specified number of credits for each module passed. No credit
shall be earned by a student in a failed module.
