The management of the USIU Africa has released the Graduation Ceremony Date for the 2025 academic year. We have published the Graduation Ceremony Date and Schedule below as released by the USIU Africa official website.

Details of USIU Africa Graduation Ceremony 2025
- Graduation will be held virtually on Saturday, September 26. Only students who will have completed degree requirements will be allowed to participate.
- Meeting: There will be a virtual meeting for all graduating students on September 11 from 11.00 a.m – 12.00 pm. Please plan to attend due to the important announcements that will be made on expectations for the virtual graduation.
- Venue: Online – Zoom (Link to be shared before the due date)
- The graduation list will be out after Summer grades have been recorded and all program requirements met for students who are in session, and after the Senate has confirmed that all graduating students have met the requirements and approved the graduation list.
- Gown Issuance – Please note that as much as we would have wished to issue graduation gowns to graduating students this year, we will not be able to do so in adherence to the Ministry of Health guidelines in trying to contain the pandemic.
- Yearbook Photos – Below are the specifications of the pictures we need and we will be very strict on them for the pictures to appear in the Yearbook:
- The deadline for the pictures is 4th September,. Kindly send them to this email: yearbook@usiu.ac.ke.
- Before you send in the picture, rename it as your student ID. That will be used as the photo ID number to track your pictures.
- Send a portrait picture from a photography studio of a quality 300 PPI (pixels per inch) or higher. Strictly adhere to this.
- Strictly, the picture background should be white.
- Strictly, dress in neutral colours i.e. greys, whites or blacks. Strictly no stripes or patterns.
- The picture should be taken of you seated or standing with the back straight and should be from the waist to above the head as shown below. No slouching or hand signs.
- Along with the photo, please include your full name, a program of study, ID number and a quote which should be written in the email (and not in a Word Document).
- Below are examples of poses you can use and the type of dress code we would prefer:
- Library Books– The USIU- A library will be open from Monday, 17th- Friday, 28th August from 9.00 am to 4.30 pm to allow graduating students to return books. Note that you will be expected to observe the COVID -19 government regulations as you return books. To be served, you MUST wear a mask and observe Social Distancing.
- Kindly ensure that you have cleared any outstanding fees balance, Library fines and replaced any lost book/s by Friday, 28th August. Only students with 0.00 (zero) balances will be allowed to graduate.
- Outstanding fees balances including graduation fees should have been cleared by Tuesday, 30th June (for students paying fees upfront), or Tuesday, 7th July for students paying by instalments in order to be cleared to participate in the September virtual commencement ceremony. Outstanding Library fines and lost books should be cleared by Friday, 28th August.
