The Faculty of Agriculture was established in June 2014 in recognition of the significance of Agriculture to the national economy and food security and nutrition under ZIMASSET and the increasing need by many would-be farmers to acquire sustainable Agriculture knowledge. Zimbabwe’s economy is agro-based with over 20 % of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) coming from Agriculture.  The heavy reliance of the Zimbabwean economy on agriculture and natural resources makes Agriculture an important discipline for sustainable development.
