Coast Hospice Kenya Overview and Contacts
Coast Hospice Kenya- Is an institution situated in Mombasa, Kenya and the first of it’s kind in the region. The Hospice provides care to patients with life-limiting illnesses from the Coast region.
It’s a registered charity that started operations in August 2001 and is located next to the Medical Training College in Mombasa off Kisauni Road, behind the Coast General Hospital.

Services
Outpatient
The hospital has an ambulatory pharmacy at which the referred patients are provided with assessment, supervision, referral, nursing care and rehabilitation services. Their services take place at 8.00 a.m. Monday through Friday. Day through Friday. From 16.30 hrs. A nurse is available for emergencies after hours, evenings and on domestic holidays.
Hospital Visits
Owing to the circumstances of life, some of their patients are admitted to hospice or patients remain in different hospitals. These patients are visited and assisted palliatively.
Day Care
Per quarter on a Thursday, they provide daycare facilities. This helps patients to meet and exchange interactions with other patients with related conditions. It also includes families and visitors from the hospice. This program empowers patients and encourages them and promotes one another.
Bereavement Support
Hospice staff achieves, in their lifelong constraint, in some of the patients; visits the sorrowful family and provides help for sorrow and counselling.
Training
They offer palliative care training to health professionals, therapists, social workers, consultants, staff, volunteers, families and caregivers to ensure that patients with life-threatening conditions are treated with attention and comfort.
