About Dedan Kimathi University Civil Engineering
The DeKUT Civil Engineering Department offers a fully integrated undergraduate Civil Engineering programme comprising up-to-date courses in all the traditional branches of Civil Engineering, such as Structures, highway and transportation, materials such as Steel, pavement and Concrete, Geotechnics, Hydraulics, Water Supply, Wastewater Treatment and Transportation. The programme is fully accredited by the Engineering Board of Kenya and the commission for university education. Furthermore, the programme undergoes continuous review through its stakeholders and faculty members to keep abreast with best practices worldwide and respond to the current challenges in civil engineering.
The only undergraduate degree on offer from the Department of Civil Engineering is the Bachelor of Science (Eng) in Civil Engineering.

BSc. Civil Engineering
Minimum Requirements:
KCSE applicants: aggregate Grade C+ and the following minimum Grades in the individual cluster subjects:
Mathematics C+, Physics C+, Chemistry C+ or equivalent qualifications obtained in other examination systems.
NB: Holders of a corresponding Diploma in Engineering with at least a credit pass will be admitted into the second year of study.
Duration: 5 Years
Location and mode of study: Main Campus Full Time
How to apply
- Applications shall be made on official application forms which are available at the Office of the Registrar (Academics Affairs). The forms can also be downloaded from the university website www.dkut.ac.ke .
- The complete application forms should be dropped or sent to the Office of the Registrar (Academics Affairs) upon payment of Ksh. 1000 application fee which is non-refundable.

Graduates will achieve the following:
- Be at the forefront in the civil engineering industry and be professional engineers starting up and growing their own new firms. They will become distinguished experts working in government, consulting firms, and international organizations locally and globally solving all civil engineering related problems affecting the world.
- Ability to pursue professional licensure, postgraduate studies, or alternate career paths.
