PhD in Mechanical Engineering

PhD in Geospatial Information Systems & Remote Sensing

PhD in Geomatics & Geospatial Information Science

Course Requirements: Entry requirements are,

A holder of Master of Science Degree in Geospatial Information Systems and Remote Sensing or its equivalent of DeKUT
A holder of at least a Master’s degree in a relevant field, from DeKUT or any other institution recognized by the University Senate as being of equivalent academic status
Any other qualification deemed to be equivalent to (i) and (ii) above and recognized by DeKUT Senate as being of equivalent academic status

PhD in Food Science & Technology

PhD in Business Administration

Course Requirements: Minimum requirements are, be a holder of a Master Degree in Business Administration from Dedan Kimathi University of Technology (DeKUT) OR Be a holder of a Master Degree in Business Administration or equivalent academic qualifications from institutions recognized by DeKUT Senate

Masters of Science in Geothermal Energy

Course Requirements: The following are eligible for the Geothermal Energy Technology postgraduate programmes:

A holder of a Bachelors degree in physical science / Geosciences or a Bachelors Engineering degree of at least second class honours, upper-division, or equivalent qualification,) which is recognized by the University Senate as an adequate prerequisite for a Post Graduate Diploma or a Master’s of Science degree in Geothermal Energy Technology.
A holder of a Bachelor degree with a Second Class Honours Lower division in the disciplines outlined above. Any work experience gained will be taken into consideration.

Master of Science in Telecommunication Engineering

Master of Science in Supply Chain Management

Course Requirements: A candidate must satisfy one of the following admission requirements:

Be a holder of a Bachelor’s degree with at least Upper Second Class Honours from the Dedan Kimathi University of Technology or any other University recognized by the DeKUT Senate and approved by the Senate.
Be a holder of a Bachelor Degree with Lower Second Class Honours from DeKUT or any other University recognized and approved by the Senate provided the candidate has relevant Postgraduate qualifications or relevant work experience of more than two (2) years.
Be a holder of a Bachelor Degree with a PASS from DeKUT or any other University recognized by the University Senate and approved by the Senate provided such a candidate has relevant full professional qualifications or relevant work experience of more than five (3) years.
Be a holder of an equivalent qualification from other institutions recognized by the Senate as a comparable academic qualification of the Dedan Kimathi University of Technology, and approved by Senate.

Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering

Course Requirements: Entry requirements are,

A holder of a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering from DeKUT AND an upper second class honours or a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.00 on a scale of 4.00 or
A holder of a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering from another institution recognized by the DeKUT senate AND an upper second class honours or a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.00 on a scale of 4.00 or
Any other related engineering qualification deemed as being an adequate prerequisite for the Masters of Science in Mechanical Degree approved by DeKUT Senate AND an upper second class honours or a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.00 on a scale of 4.00.

Master of Science in Leather Technology

Course Requirements: The following shall be eligible for registration for the Master of Science in Leather Technology:
Either;

A holder of at least an Upper Second Class Honours bachelors degree of DeKUT in OR
A holder of at least a second class honours upper division Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant field, from DeKUT any other institution recognized by the University Senate as being of equivalent academic status to (i) OR
A holder of a Second Class Honours (Lower Division), Bachelor of Science degree in Leather Technology or Bachelor of Science degree in relevant field from DeKUT or any other institution which is recognized by the University Senate as being of equivalent academic status and who in addition must show proof of two years of relevant experience and professional development and academic advancement through research and publication since graduation with the bachelor’s degree or a postgraduate diploma in the relevant field.

Master of Science in Industrial Mathematics

Course Requirements: The following shall be eligible for registration for the Master of Science in Industrial Mathematics, either:

A holder of at least an Upper Second Class Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics (or Actuarial Science.), any Engineering course and Computer Science from DeKUT OR
A holder of at least a Second Class Honours (Upper Division) Bachelors Degree of Science in a relevant field, from any other institution recognized by the University Senate as being of equivalent academic status to (a) OR
A holder of at least a Second Class Honours (Upper Division) Bachelors Degree in a relevant field, which is recognized by the University Senate as an adequate prerequisite for M.Sc. in Industrial Mathematics OR
A holder of at least a Second Class Honours (Lower Division) Bachelors Degree from DeKUT or any other institution which is recognized by the University Senate as being of equivalent academic status and who in addition must show proof of either two years relevant experience and personal development or academic advancement through research and publications since graduation with the Bachelor Degree or a Postgraduate Diploma in the relevant field.

Master of Science in Industrial Engineering & Management

Course Requirements: The following shall be eligible for admission for the degree of Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and Management:

A holder of a Bachelor’s of Science of an Engineering degree, with at least second class honours, upper-division, from DeKUT or from any other institution which is recognized by the university senate as being of equivalent academic status or
A holder of a Bachelor of Science of an Engineering degree, with Second Class Honours- The lower division in the Engineering disciplines outlined above and with at least 2 years work experience.

Master of Science in Geospatial Information Systems & Remote Sensing

Course Requirements: The following are eligible for registration for the Master of Science in Geospatial Information Systems and Remote Sensing:
Either;

A holder of at least a Second Class Honours (Upper Division) Bachelor of Science degree from DeKUT in spatial information-based or related specialization, or from any other institution recognized by the University Senate as being of equivalent academic status, OR
A holder of a Second Class Honours (Lower Division), Bachelor of Science degree from DeKUT in spatial information-based or related specialization, or from any other institution which is recognized by the University Senate as being of equivalent academic status and who in addition has had either two years relevant experience and professional development or academic advancement through research and publication since graduation with the Bachelor’s degree or a Postgraduate Diploma in the relevant field.

Course Requirements: A candidate must satisfy one of the following admission requirements.

Be holder of Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Economic Finance or Economics Statistics; with at least Upper Second class honour from any university recognized by DeKUT academic Board and approved by the senate.
Be holder of Bachelor Degree with lower second class honour in any of the areas (as in part an above); from DeKUT or any other university recognized by the academic Board and approved by the Senate provided the candidate has relevant research or relevant work experience of more than two(2) years.
Be a holder of an equivalent qualification from other institutions recognized by the Academic Board as compared academic qualifications from the Dedan Kimathi University of Technology and approved by the Senate.

Master of Science in Advanced Manufacturing & Automation Engineering

Course Requirements: The following shall be eligible for admission for the degree of Master of Science in Advanced Manufacturing and Automation Engineering:

A holder of a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering with at least Second Class Honours, Upper Division, of DeKUT or
A holder of a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering with at least Second Class Honours, Lower Division, of DeKUT with not less than two (2) years relevant work experience or
A holder of a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering, with Second Class Honours-Upper Division or Second Class Honours-Lower Division but with two (2) years professional work experience in an area relevant to the programme, from another institution recognized by the DeKUT Senate as being of satisfactory academic status.

Master of Business Administration

Course Requirements: A candidate must satisfy one of the following admission requirements:

Be a holder of a Bachelor’s degree with at least Upper Second Class Honours (GPA of 3.0) from the Dedan Kimathi University of Technology or any other University recognized by the DeKUT School Board and approved by the Senate.
Be a holder of a Bachelor Degree with Lower Second Class Honours (GPA of 2.60) from DeKUT or any other University recognized by the DeKUT School Board and approved by the Senate provided the candidate has relevant Postgraduate qualifications or relevant work experience of at least two (2) years.
Be a holder of a Bachelor Degree with a PASS (GPA of 2.0) from DeKUT or any other University recognized by the University School Board and approved by the Senate provided such a candidate has relevant full professional qualifications or relevant work experience of at least three (3) years.
Be a holder of equivalent qualifications from other institutions recognized by the School Board as a comparable academic qualification of the Dedan Kimathi University of Technology, and approved by Senate.
