In the GETFund Act, the law has stated the various source of fund for the scholarship scheme. The money gathered to fund the Ghana Education Trust Fund is termed as the GETFund Levy. The government strategically has placed a percentage on every item sold in Ghana to help generate funds for the scheme. This means that, on every item you buy in Ghana, you contribute to support education in Ghana.
How to Know the Percentage of the GETFund Quota
Anytime you buy any item in Ghana, request for a receipt. Under the tax section, you will see a number of taxes which are added to the price of what you bought. The tax quotations are given below most receipts. The GETFund quota is also quoted among other taxes. The GETFund Levy currently is 2.5%. Literally, on every item you buy, 2.5% of the price of the item is deducted to fund the GETFund Scholarship.
