IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL NEW APPLICANTS:

By considering Rob Ferreira High School as an educational institution for your child, you unconditionally accept the system of values of our school

Any application which is incomplete due to required documentation not being included will only be processed once the necessary documents have been received by the office.

Our high academic, discipline, leadership and management standards lead to our school being a very popular choice for prospective learners. We receive far more applications as we can accommodate and we wish to guard against an overcrowded academic environment. Classes that are too full, limit academic potential and hinder achievement. Our language classes are limited to a maximum of 38 learners.

Early applications do not guarantee acceptance as the school always receives more applications as what we can accommodate. A selection process will always have to take place that includes hostel applications that can comprise 20% of all placements.

Therefore preference will be given to applications according to the following sequenced priorities:

Firstly: Learners from the primary school closest to us, provided the parents/ guardians live and work in White River.

Secondly: Because Rob Ferreira is the only high school with a hostel in the defined feeding area that offers Afrikaans Home Language, preference will first be given to learners who have both Afrikaans Home Language and English First Additional Language AND whose parents live and work in the feeding area.

Thirdly: Learners who wish to specialise in special/technical subjects.

Fourthly: Learners (in or outside the feeding area) who have been allocated to our school by National or Provincial Departments under the principle of a Sport Focus School AND/OR learners with sport bursaries

Fifthly: Learners from the surrounding area/towns that do not have a high school who had Afrikaans Home Language, Afrikaans First Additional Language, English Home Language and English First Additional Language in grade 7 who reside with their biological parents/legal guardians AND will be making use of hostel accommodation.

Admission primarily commences from the principle of using the closest primary school and then from the surrounding area as our school is the only school in the White River area, which offers technical subjects and hostel accommodation.

Applications that DO NOT fall into the abovementioned priorities list are urged to apply at other schools as well. This request applies to learners who fall under the categories 5.1 to 5.5. as mentioned above.

An R100 administration fee is payable when submitting the application.

Results of your application will be made available via SMS, e-mail or telephonically.

IMPORTANT DATES:

Applications for the next year close on the last school day of July in the current year.

Applications received later than the closing date will be put on the waiting list.

All successful grade 8 applicants must be at school on the day before the school reopens in the new year.

Successful applicants who do not report on an abovementioned day will forfeit their places.

WAITING LIST:

Applicants who were not successful during the first selection process will be placed on a waiting list.

The waiting list will be initiated as soon as all the available space has been filled by those who qualify.

When a place does become available, the first applicant available/reachable at the top of the waiting list will be accommodated first.

The waiting list will be cancelled on the 11th school day of the year and applicants will have to re-apply or have their applications renewed.

Enquiries about the waiting list can only be attended to on Friday after the school has reopened in January.

Please note that the applicant must reside at the address given under the care of the parent/guardian as stated. Information can be verified. If the stated information does not correspond with reality, the application will be cancelled.

DOUBLE MEDIUM-CLASS APPLICANTS

Double Medium class applicants will be selected based on the Top 38 academic performers.
