The College is a technical institution that serves as a training arm of Kenya Forest Service a Parastatal within the Ministry of Environment and Forestry. As a tertiary institution, we train personnel required in the forest and closely related sub-sectors. The Statute establishes a Board of Directors which formulates policies for administration and management of the College.
The college is formally registered as a legally established Technical Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA). It is also registered as a member of the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service(KUCCPS)
