We advise all graduation applicants to follow the graduation procedures as illustrated by the school. After confirming the graduation date, graduation applicants can then go ahead to check and download the Graduation list. Login to your University of Ghana Student Portal to check your fees outstanding and clear yourself.

The University of Ghana  Graduation Ceremony 2024/25

University of Ghana announces that congregation ceremonies will be held for students of the under-listed Colleges and the School of Graduate Studies, who successfully completed their programmes of study during the 2025/2026 academic year:

  • College of Basic and Applied Sciences
  • College of Education
  • College of Health Sciences
  • College of Humanities
Graduation Date, Mode, and Location

The January 2024 Congregation ceremonies which will take place at the Great Hall and the Cedi Conference Centre (Department of Economics), will be held in January.  Accordingly, students who completed their programmes during the 2023/2024 academic year and wish to be presented during the January 2025/2026 Congregation ceremonies are required to take note of the following:

  1. Ensure that all outstanding financial obligations to the University have been fulfilled.
  2. Registration starts in December and ends in January
  3. Graduands are required to pay GH¢400.00 at any branch of Ecobank, or online using Visa/MasterCard/Mobile Money and proceed to their designated collection points in their colleges for their graduation gown and invitation cards for graduand and two guests.  Graduate students will collect their graduation gowns and invitation cards from the School of Graduate Studies.
  4. List of Graduands to be presented in January 2024 will be available on the University’s website. http://www.ug.edu.gh

Please Note:       

Admission is strictly by invitation. Therefore, graduands to be presented and their guests should come along with their invitation cards.

Graduands are also expected to be seated at the designated venue (Great Hall/Cedi Conference Centre) in the academic gown appropriate to their degrees, worn preferably over a suit/jacket with tie, or other suitable attire.

Graduands are hereby notified that sashes worn by graduating students will not be allowed at any of the Congregation grounds.

To avoid traffic congestion on the Congregation days:

  1. All entry and exit points to and from the University of Ghana will be opened to the public.
  2. The general public is advised to use alternative routes if they do not have any immediate business on the Legon Campus.
  3. Only vehicles of guests with embossed permits on their invitation cards will be allowed to drive towards the Great Hall/Cedi Conference Centre and park their vehicles at the designated parking spaces.

Shuttle services will be provided for graduands and their guests.

  • Graduands and their two guests with embossed shuttle pass permits affixed on their invitation cards may enjoy a free return ride on the shuttle vehicles upon showing their invitation cards.
  • All other vehicles will be directed to designated parking spaces away from the Great Hall and the Cedi Conference Centre.
  • The designated Parking Spaces are:
  1. The lawn opposite the Legon Mosque/Republic Bank
  2. The lawn adjacent International House/opposite the School of Law
  3. The lawn behind the University Guest Centre

Congregation – Options for Paying Congregation Fee

Approved lists of Graduands from all the Colleges will be available on the graduation list page for registration. Graduands should check for their names using their University of Ghana ID numbers or surname and log-in to register for the appropriate session.

Students with outstanding bills should contact the Student Accounts Office at the Jones-Quartey Building promptly to settle their bills. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that obligations on his/her account to the University are met to enable records to be cleared for registration. Students with outstanding fees on their Account will be tagged and may be barred from registration and receipt of their UG transcripts/certificates.

Upon completion of the on-line registration form, Graduands should ensure that they register online before payment to avoid difficulties. The Congregation fee is Gh¢400.00.  For the January 2024 Congregation there is only one option for paying the Congregation fee:

  1. Through UGPay via the graduation registration page.  Use MTN Mobile money/Vodafone cash.
  2. At any ECOBANK branch (into the UG graduation account)

Payment can be made from December to  January

Pay online as you register via the graduation registration page with Mobile Money through our secured online payment platform. You will find a “Pay Online” hyperlink on registration platform after you have logged in and registered.

Deadline for Registration and Payment:  is in January

Report immediately to the Students Accounts Office at the Jones-Quartey Building (or call the Head on 0209114001) with proof of payment/ payment receipt information for rectification if payment does not reflect online immediately. Failure to do so will lead to the assumption that you have not paid and your name will be omitted from the call list for the ceremony.
