Manicaland State University Courses Entry Requirements

UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE PROGRAMMES FEBRUARY/APRIL INTAKE

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admissions in the following Degree Programmes at the Manicaland State University of Applied Sciences. Please note that applicants must have at least 5 ‘O’ level subjects or equivalent including English Language at grade C or better in addition to the specified ‘A’ level subjects or diplomas .

CONVENTIONAL PROGRAMMES

FACULTY OF ENGINEERING- APRIL INTAKE

Degree Programmes	Entry Requirements
1 BEng Chemical and Processing (5 years)	Passes at ‘A’ level in Chemical and Mathematics or Physics, and any other Science subject. Diploma holders in Chemistry and /or related fields will be considered.
2 BEng Mining and Mineral Processing (5 years)	Passes at ‘A’ level in Physics and Mathematics, and any other Science subject. Diploma holders in Mining engineering, metallurgy, geology, and mining surveying will be considered.
3 BEng Metallurgy (5 years)	Passes at ‘A’ level in Chemical and Mathematics, and any other Science subject. Diploma holders in Mining engineering, geology, Metallurgical Assaying and Mine Surveying.

FACULTY OF APPLIED SCIENCES AND TECHNOLOGY- FEBRUARY INTAKE

Degree Programmes	Entry Requirements
1 BSc Information Systems (4 years)	Passes at ‘A’ level in at least two of the following subjects Management of business ,Economics and Mathematics/ Equivalent or at least National Diploma in Mining/ Professional Qualification in Computer Science/Information Systems, and any other Science subject. Diploma holders in Chemistry and /or related fields will be considered.
2 BSc Applied Statistics (4 years)	Passes at ‘A’ level Mathematics, and any other Sciences or Commercials subject.
3 BSc Computer Science (4 years)	Passes at ‘A’ level Mathematics, Physics, and any other Sciences.

FACULTY OF APPLIED SOCIAL SCIENCES FEBRUARY INTAKE

Degree Programmes	Entry Requirements
1 BSc Hons Human Resources Management (4 years)	Passes at ‘A’ level in Management of business, plus any Humanities/ Arts.
2 BSc Hons Psychology (4 years)	Passes at ‘A’ level Humanities,+ ‘O’ Level Biology and Mathematics.

FACULTY OF AGRI BUSINESS AND COMMERCE FEBRUARY INTAKE

Degree Programmes	Entry Requirements
1 BCom Tourism and Hospitality Management(4 years)	Any 2 ‘A’ levels with commercials being added advantage or at National Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management/Tourism Management/ Marketing Management, Retail Management, Institute of Administration and Commerce (IAC).
2 BSc Agricultural Economics and Development (4 years)	Any 2 ‘A’ levels in commercials/Sciences with Agriculture being added advantage or at Diploma/ National Diploma in Agriculture including ‘O’ level Mathematics.
3 BCom Accounting (4 years)	Passes at ‘A’ level Accounting, and any of the following ‘A’ level subjects; Mathematics,Economics, Management of Business, Computing(Computer Science).
4 BCom Business Management(4 years)	Passes at ‘A’ level Management of Business, and any subjects in Commercials, Sciences or Arts including ‘O’ level mathematics.

WEEKEND SCHOOL/BLOCK RELEASE PROGRAMMES

FACULTY OF ENGINEERING FEBRUARY INTAKE

1 BEng Chemical and Processing (5 years) with work related running concurrently with final 4th year

Entry Requirements

- At least 5 ‘O’ level passes including Mathematics and English language
- Passed at “A” level Chemistry and Mathematics
- At least two years working experience in the relevant field (proof of employment required)

A national diploma(ND2) in chemical engineering,chemistry metallurgy, or equivalent qualifications

2 Mining and Mineral Processing (5 years) with work related running concurrently with final 4th year

Entry Requirements

- At least 5 ‘O’ level passes including Mathematics and English language
- Passed at “A” level Physics and Mathematics
- At least two years working experience in the relevant field (proof of employment required)

A national diploma(ND2) in mining engineering, geology, metallurgy, or any relevant qualifications

FACULTY OF APPLIED SCIENCES AND TECHNOLOGY (BSC HONS DEGREE) FEBRUARY INTAKE

1 BSc Information Systems (3 years)

- Applicants must have a relevant Diploma/Professional Qualification in Information Systems/Information Technology

A pass in “A” level Commercials (Computing Studies, Mathematics, Accounting, Economics, Business Studies)
At least one years working experience in the relevant field (proof of employment required).

FACULTY OF AGRI BUSINESS AND COMMERCE

1 BCom Tourism and Hospitality Management (3 years)

Diploma in Tourism Management/Tourism Operations Management, International Tourism, Tourism and Hospitality Management, Travel Agency Management, Culinary Studies/Professional cookery/Baked studies, Business studies, Purchasing, Education, Marketing management, Retail management, Institute of Administration and Commerce (IAC)
A National Diploma in travel and tourism or equivalent relevant qualification
At least one years working experience in the relevant field (proof of employment required).

2 BSc Agricultural Economics and Development (3 years)

- Diploma/Higher National Diploma in Agriculture or equivalent relevant qualification
- Diploma in Tourism Management/Tourism Operations Management, International Tourism, Tourism and Hospitality Management, Travel Agency Management, Culinary Studies/Professional cookery/Baked studies, Business studies, Purchasing, Education, Marketing management, Retail management, Institute of Administration and Commerce (IAC)

Any 2 “A” level in commercials/Agriculture or Arts and any relevant subject and good passes in “O” level Biology, Chemistry, Economics, Physical Sciences and Mathematics
At least one years working experience in the relevant field (proof of employment required).
