About the Region

Internationalisation of higher education has become topical locally and internationally. In that vein, Universities are frantically and tenaciously aligning policies and procedures to carve a niche in the international market. In line with the Zimbabwe Open University thrust to expand its frontiers beyond the Zimbabwean border, the Virtual Campus was incepted in the year 2010.

The establishment of the Virtual Campus brought to eleven (11) the number of Regional Campuses of the Zimbabwe Open University. This was an unprecedented development in the history of the University and the country. Access to high education could now be achieved by students from anywhere in the world.

Delivery Mode

Modules, assignments and tutorials can be accessed on the ZOU e-learning platform, myVista on following link; www.myvista.zou.ac.zw/portal.

Assignments

Students are required to submit two (2) assignments per course per semester. Assignments are marked and feedback returned through myVista e-learning platform.

Tutorials

Tutorials for Virtual Campus Students are done online through myVista e-learning platform. On myVista, students can interact; student to student, tutor to student and student with content. In addition, interaction with tutors can also be done through social media such as; Facebook chats, Google talk, Skype and WhatsApp

Examinations

Students studying though the Virtual Campus sit for examinations in the country of residence. Zimbabwean Embassies proctor examinations but where Embassies are not available; the University engages reputable Colleges and Universities to proctor examinations in respective countries.

Professional Development

In its quest to contribute towards Human Capital Development, the ZOU-Virtual Campus has moved further to offer short duration courses in and outside Zimbabwe borders.
